Set custom wallpaper for WhatsApp – individual chat thread

Here’s how you can set a custom wallpaper for individual WhatsApp chats on iPhone and Android.

For Android

1. Open WhatsApp.

2. Go to the chat thread you want to change the wallpaper for.

3. Tap the menu button from the toolbar and select Wallpaper.

4. Choose from the options Bright, Dark, Solid Colors, and My Photos.

5. Select an image from your device’s storage or in-built WhatsApp wallpapers.

6. Tap a photo to preview it and tap Set Wallpaper.

7. From the pop-up dialog, select For This Chat and tap the OK.

Your custom wallpaper will be set.

If you want to remove the custom wallpaper, go to the menu, select Wallpaper, tap Change, tap Remove Custom Wallpaper, and then tap Remove to confirm the change.

For iPhone

Most of the settings for the iOS version are the same as for Android. Make sure that you have installed the latest version.

1. Open WhatsApp.

3. Tap the contact or group name at the top to go to the settings.

4. Select Wallpaper & Sound.
