Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Boosts Wear OS

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Boosts Wear OS By 58% Annually.

This great result is due to sales of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, both introduced in late 2021 and utilising Wear OS 3.

Apple had a 26.4% market share and 8.4 million devices delivered in Q2.

Samsung grew 58% year-over-year in Q2 2022, delivering enough smartwatches to beat Huawei.

Canalys says Samsung’s market share jumped to 8.9% after delivering 2.8 million handsets.

This is merely 6% increase year-over-year, while Apple’s market share in Q2 2021 was 31.1%, so Samsung may be set to cut into Apple’s massive lead.

That’s another story. Apple traditionally produces good Q3 and Q4 performance after its annual September announcements. This year, the company has entered a new market with the Apple Watch Ultra.
With the Apple Watch Series 8 and Watch SE 2 arriving, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Cupertino company regain some lost ground in Q3 2022 – even with Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

Stay tuned to see who wins in the second half of 2022.

Galaxy Watch 4 design

Both variants of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 have a revised frame for gapless strap attachment. The consistent set of crown buttons is oblong, not round with a flush side button.

The Galaxy Watch 4 pays respect to previous versions despite these modifications. The revolving bezel of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic both a navigation tool and fidget spinner. Since the first Samsung Galaxy Watch revealed the bezel, it’s become as iconic as the S Pen. — Galaxy Note. Samsung’s decision to eliminate the Galaxy Watch 5’s rotating bezel is contentious.
Having used the Galaxy Watch 3 more recently than the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2, adapting to the Galaxy Watch 4’s capacitive bezel takes time. Without the mechanism, the smartwatch is thinner and won’t be mistaken for a classic watch.

Wear OS strengths, downsides on Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

I’ve never experienced a better Wear OS experience than on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. Although Wear OS smartwatches have tricked me previously, the Galaxy Watch 4 doesn’t. The software seems extremely Tizen-like, which is fantastic. Finding my rhythm allowed me to navigate programmes, menus, and pages quickly.
Samsung Pay and Samsung Health still take preference over Tizen’s spinning panels. Google’s new app cloud is filled with Google’s apps (it looks like watchOS, but who cares?). Google Assistant since May.

There’s Google Maps. Having it on my wrist helps me navigate the city and suburbs. See more Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Wear OS features I like. Compare the Galaxy Watch 4’s WearOS to the Apple Watch’s watchOS.
