Including new top-of-the-line phones like the Ultra, Xiaomi has now officially launched its Xiaomi 12S line of devices. One of the most powerful models attracts attention because of its camera system, which has an enormous module attached to the back.
Also, the new camera system for mobile phones promises to be powerful. They announced a new partnership with Leica, which will supply lenses for the company’s new devices. In addition, new image processing and battery optimizations were unveiled by the company.
This new generation of Snapdragon 8+ devices features a Snapdragon 8+ processor. Aside from providing cutting-edge performance, the company has placed a high priority on optimising energy consumption. According to Xiaomi, the chip’s gains over the previous model in Qualcomm’s line resulted in a 30 percent decrease in consumption.
While Xiaomi Surge P1 protects the device from overloads, the Surge G1 promises to improve power management and extend its useful life, it is one of the most novel aspects of the two-chip battery system.
An important feature of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is its 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. The main image capture module takes up a significant portion of the upper back of the phone, giving it a distinctive appearance.
To demonstrate its “premium style,” Xiaomi’s 12S Ultra sports an aluminum body with a 23K gold ring and a back texture that evokes leather. In addition, the manufacturer promises a high level of resistance, including IP68 certification, to keep the massive sensor safe.
The Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor and the advanced Leica lens system are both parts of Xiaomi’s new high-end phone. As an alternative to the 50 MP main module, there are 48 MP ultrawide and 48 MP with a 120x zoom in the periscope pattern available as alternative auxiliary solutions. In addition, “hyper image stabilization” and Adobe software optimizations are part of the package.
With a 6.73-inch AMOLED screen, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra has the same specifications as the Pro model of the new line, with 2K resolution, 552 PPI, and variable refresh rates up to 120 Hz. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 has a 3D cooling system that mimics the “veins of a tree leaf” according to the company.
The phone has a 4,860 mAh battery and can be charged at 67W, but there are some modifications due to the large camera. In addition to the previously mentioned system of chips that improve energy efficiency, the company is utilizing a new generation of its high-silicon battery in the device.
6.28-inch screen, 4500mAh battery, and 67W cable fast charging are all included in the Xiaomi 12S data sheet. Sony IMX707 main sensor, 13 MP macro, and 5 MP secondary solutions are included in the camera.
An image stabilization feature is included in the product, as well as a brand new multi-image mode. Two “Leica styles” were also unveiled by Xiaomi, which are features built into the camera that allows users to take photos using special filters created in conjunction with the Leica lens brand.
With a 6.73-inch 2K resolution and 552 PPI screen that can change frequency up to 120 Hz, the Xiaomi 12S Pro is designed to maximize energy efficiency. A 4,600 mAh battery and fast charging of up to 120W are also included in the package.
Three Leica 50 MP image sensors are included in the phone’s Pro model. The IMX707 sensor is included in the main camera, as well as 2x zoom improvements.
Xiaomi has warned that the new phones’ higher value than expected may disappoint customers in terms of price. Because it’s more difficult to introduce a high-end cell phone model in the current environment, the company justifies the move.
